Swimming Pools
When we were kids how many times did we look at our neighbor's yard and wish that we could jump in their pool? The heat has started and it would be perfect if everyone had a way that they could cool off while playing outside. Why not invest in a small pool that your kids can play in? These can be found in a assortment of sizes and will cost between $50 to $300. This price will depend on the how big they are and if they are inflatable or above ground.
Slides
For many of us it is simply not smart to buy a pool. Instead you should buy a water slide. All you will need is the slide and a sprinkler to keep it wet and smooth. Your youngsters will still be able to run around and cool off at the same time. These are half the price and are safe for kids of all ages to use.
Inflatable Indoor Bouncers
It isn't every day that your kids are able to play in a bounce house? Commonly these are large enough to hold ten kids and might cost hundreds of dollars. Yet, you can now get the indoor inflatable bouncers that can fit in your kid's room. They cost a whole lot less and your kids and their friends will have hours of fun!

The toys must be appropriate according to their interest and gender. Some kids may like PS3 and other kids might prefer PSP or even educational toys. So the first thing to do is to ask and verify the toy that your child wants.

The most common toys that are fun and beneficial to kids' cognitive skills are the educational toys such as checker board, chess board, Rubik's cube and Lego. These toys are composed of bright colors that are attractive to kids. It is easy to play and will make your kid think all throughout the game. Lego is easy and relaxing while your child are clipping them together and forming different shapes. On the other hand, Rubik's cube is very handy and can be brought anywhere. Chess and checker needs an opponent. So if you have two kids, it is a good idea to buy these kinds of toys that needs more players. It will help you save money.

Preschool and school age girls are fond of collecting Barbie dolls, toy kitchens and house wares. Barbie dolls have so many kinds that kids would love to collect. They change their dress, comb their hair and sometimes treat these dolls as their babies and playmates. Dolls have different colors. Most commonly, kids love color pink. Barbie dolls are good toys and remembrance for the childhood days of your daughter. This kind of toy can either be kept in a cabinet which serves as your child's collection if she grows older and doesn't want to play dolls anymore or as decoration in your child's room to make her room more colorful and attractive.

Kids especially the boys at the age of seven to twelve are fond of video games. The most recent gaming systems are the PS3, X-box360 and Wii with numerous games to be played such as Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4, Final Fantasy XIII, NBA Live 2010, Army of Two, etc. Kids usually stay at home during holidays to play these video games. These games have good graphics and sound effects which enchants the players. However these kinds of toys are more luxurious than the toys mentioned earlier. 4 Helpful Tips For Organizing Autistic Kid's Toys, Schedules and Schoolwork

It's important for all children to learn how to be organized and this is especially true for autistic children. Kids who develop good organizational skills are significantly more likely to excel in school and life. Learning organizational skills helps develop their focus, concentration and motor skills.

Organization can be more challenging with children on the autism spectrum because they are easily distracted, require visual aids and usually have limited motor skills.

Autistic children tend to be visual learners, which means they generally learn and perform better when provided with visual instructions and prompts. These are some tips on how you can help your child be organized, develop skills and make smooth transitions between activities using visual instructions and prompts.

These tips vary depending on your child's age and abilities. You can use this as a reference guide and adjust as needed.

#1 - Create a bin system for your child's supplies and toys. Separate the types of toys and supplies into individual bins. Take photographs of each type of toy or supply contained within and tape the photograph to the front of each corresponding bin.

For example: Tape a photograph of your child's bin filled with building blocks and tape it to the front of the bin. Do the same with markers, plush toys, crayons, and so on. Even if the bins are clear (transparent), it will be easier for your child to be organized if s/he has a visual cue as to where the toys or supplies belong. Bins with easy to remove lids or no lids tend to work well.

#2 - Display childrens' toys, supplies and clothing. It is easier for autistic children to stay organized and function if they can see all of the their belongings. Drawers do not usually work well for children on the autism spectrum. Hang as many of their clothes as possible or fold them and place them on shelves, preferably cubbies. Place jeans in one cubby, sweatshirts in another and so on. Socks, underwear and pajamas are best placed in transparent bins with photographs taped to the front. If you don't have cubbies, you may tape photographs on the front of each drawer. If possible do not combine items into one drawer.

#3 - Set up daily routines and stick to them as much as possible. Creating regular daily routines can make transitioning from one activity to another less upsetting. Children on the autism spectrum often thrive when they have daily routines and usually react poorly to changes in routines. Once a solid routine is created small changes can be introduced slowly and can help your child develop coping strategies to deal with transitions. It is best to introduce changes in routines in very small steps. Gradually, your child will be able to use strategies like social stories and self talk to work through the anxiety they experience when making transitions.

An example of an organizing routine is to give your child a 10-minute heads-up before dinner each evening and then have them set an egg timer for 10 minutes. Teach them that when the timer goes off, they are to pick up all of their toys and place them in the appropriate bins.

This establishes a routine, lets them know what to expect, gives them a 10-minute lead-time and then provides them a distinct audio clue when it's time to pick up and get organized. It is important to have them set the egg timer, not you. It gets them more involved in the process so they will be more likely to follow through with the routine.

An addition to this routine could be that when the egg timer goes off and it's time to pick up and get organized, you play a specific song that your child then recognizes as the "pick-up and get organized" song. This can make it fun, playful, soothing and also can help keep them on task and get the work done faster.

#4 Create a visual schedule for your child. Picture schedules work best for autistic kids. Set up the picture schedule so that when your child is finished with the task/activity they can move that picture to the all done side. Essentially you are creating an interactive picture schedule that your child can "control". Their picture schedule could also be organized by first, next, last. It will give them the order of the tasks and they can move the picture to the "completed" side.

Using visual aids and keeping it simple are the most important keys for autistic children. Of course all of these tips are only to be used as guidelines and ideas. Each child on the autistic spectrum reacts a little differently, has different needs and is functioning at varying levels. Consider modifying and adjusting these ideas as you see fit based on your child's needs, abilities and age.

Pedal Toys and Healthy Children

Pedal toys are a wonderful way for children to get the exercise they need to be healthy and productive throughout the day. It is these very simple and classic pedal toys that can give tots all the fun they need, while keeping them active.

Unfortunately, from a very early age, too many children are filling their downtime by playing computer and video games and remaining indoors, staying in a sedentary position. While some interactive computer and video games have educational benefits, they certainly do not make up for quality time outdoors, running around burning energy and letting off steam. What better way to encourage the kids to go outside in the backyard to play than with a pedal toy.

Pedal toys are a broad term that refers to toys, usually outdoor models that can move around by being pedaled. The toys include a set of pedals, one for each foot of course, and they come in a wide array of vehicles. Some of the most popular pedal toys include pedal cars and tractors and even pedal planes. The cars are especially wide-ranging, with some looking like vintage cars, fire engines and even hot rods. Pedal toys are perfect for older toddlers and preschoolers, as the pedals take some coordination and balance and help fine tune their motor skills. As an added benefit, pedal cars can serve as a precursor for learning how to ride a bike. In this way preschoolers can go through the motions of pedaling without parents having to worry about them tipping over on a tricycle.

Besides pedal cars, there are also plenty of toddler ride-on toys that are perfect for the little ones, even those who are still gaining their balance. Toddler ride-on toys also include an extensive collection of vehicles, some equipped with horns, streamers and lights. These toys are perfect for the younger crowd, as they don't need to be pedaled and instead get around by tots pushing with their legs and feet. Some require more balance than others, but all encourage the use of leg and feet muscles and a certain amount of co-ordination.

Pedal cars and ride-on toys are so much fun that kids will forget that they are actually being active and exercising. Indeed, these toys are best when used outdoors, so your child will be getting fresh air and sunshine as well as their daily exercise. Ride-on toys promote the use of large motor skills, helping toddlers to gain balance and coordination while strengthening the muscles and encouraging endurance. Best of all, these fun toys build creativity and role play, so our kids can enjoy "just being kids".

Remote Control Construction Toys Give Kids of Every Age RC Playtime Opportunities

There's no age limit barring the fun that remote control construction toys offer. No matter how young or old you are, starting the construction project your inner kid dreamed up in your mind is only a couple of button pushes away.

The variety of radio control construction equipment available for your pleasure brings the ability to duplicate any construction site activity you see in the real world on an RC scale. You only need to plan the activity on paper so you have a blueprint to follow from beginning to completion.

The number of construction projects available for your planning activities are numerous. What do you want to build today?

How about a single high-rise apartment building, or a skyscraper reaching toward the clouds? Make a design of, and layout, an entire residential neighborhood with different housing styles, roads, sidewalks, even a fire hydrant on every corner.

Construct a sprawling city that stretches out across your back yard. Don't forget to plan for office buildings, parking garages, houses, apartment buildings, banks, fire stations, utility service buildings, hospitals, roads, sidewalks - all the various structures you see in every city.

Don't have a back yard, or enough space to stretch your city out? Think about how to erect your city upward, and create a futuristic city on multiple tier levels. You'll include all those buildings, roads, and sidewalks that any city must include, and you'll have a more complex, and interesting project to design and build.

Speaking of that back yard, how would you like a miniature golf course? Draw up the plans, power up the RC construction toys, and build one for yourself.

Let your imagine run wild. Better yet ask your kids and grandkids for help. They'll have a grand time playing with you on any project you all choose, and the ideas they dream up are often beyond amazing.

Once you have an idea of what construction project you'll work put it all on paper so you have a drawing of the systematic process to follow.

When you're ready to start operating the radio control construction equipment you'll start with the excavators. Use them to dig your foundations, and start leveling the ground on which you'll perform the construction tasks.

With the front loaders move the excess dirt that the excavators piled up to the dump trucks for hauling away, and then use the loaders to perform the fine leveling job.

Haul in the building materials with a semi-trailer truck, off load them with the forklifts, and move them into position with the RC cranes.

Remote control toy projects promise hours of fun for the kid that lurks inside you eager to leap to the surface for some playtime.

And just think about all the excitement and pleasure you'll get from your children's smiling faces.

Kids Toy Storage Tips

Organizing your kid's room or personal space can really be quite a challenge. This is more so if you have more than one kid. The problem mostly with cleaning a kid's room is that it gets messed up again as soon as you're done cleaning it. Kids are not aware how important it is to have a clean room, and they can't exactly understand this if you explain it to them. What most mothers need to understand is that explaining things to kids alone wouldn't really make the picture stick. Kids follow more by example. Remember the phrase "monkey-see, monkey-do"?

That's what you need to remember. Showing kids how to clean and maintain the cleanliness of their room will make them follow this important routine. You also need to make cleaning fun. Make it more like playing than actually cleaning. Have a fun music play in the background, and play with the toys as you go about the cleaning. Tell them stuffs like how dolly likes to stay in the top shelf, and that's her permanent place from now. Or how Mr. Cowboy thinks of the toy box as his home, and that he needs to go home right after playing. Things like these will be remembered by your kids, and they wouldn't think of cleaning as a chore anymore.

Also one great way to have your kids clean after their mess is to decorate their room with nice and colorful palaces to place their toys. Kids' toy storage, a deviation from kids storage bins are popular among Moms. These boxes or shelves are made in such a way that it's appealing to kids-- appealing enough that they will let you put it in their room. Believe me, these storages are life savers for Mom. No more stepping on that toy car ten times a day or seeing Mrs. Potato head in your kitchen. A lot of these things are sold over the internet, or you can go to your favorite furniture shop to search for toy storage.

Although toy storage can be quiet expensive, you don't have to spend a lot of money on it. There are a couple of ways to keep your kid's room organized even without purchasing toy storage. You know those clear boxes used for shoe storage? You could always use those keeping your kids' toys, especially for the little toys that would get lost in big toy boxes. You can have one kind of toy per box. Like, one box for building blocks; one box for toy cars and one box for art supplies. This way, your kids can just grab one and play. No need to take all toys out, unlike if you're kid has only one box for all the toys.

Plastic jars as well as laundry baskets can also be used instead of expensive kids toy storage. You can always do art on these boxes if you find them not nice or colorful enough. Paint them, draw on them. Do whatever you like. Just let that creative juice flow, and you'll be able to create the nicest boxes for your kid's room and have a nice organized home

You could have the wooden toy chest wheeled so that it is easily movable and can be placed in different locations as per your needs. You could also opt for adjustable compartments to differentiate spaces of books and toys and other items, if any, that belongs to your kid.

Kids Electric Guitars - Are They Any Good?

Millions of families all throughout the United States spoil and pamper their children by buying them tons of toys. This is a good thing, especially because children need to experiment a lot, and they need to see as many aspects of real life as they can while they are still young if they are to get a head start in life. And since toys are usually miniature representations of stuff in the real world, they are perfect if you want to prepare your little one for adulthood. Many homes have special storage places for mountains of toys, each more interesting than the others. One type of toys has particularly sparked my interest: electric guitars for kids.

Well, sure, I admit, it is because I play the guitar too. I played in many bands, even participated in a large concert once. That's why the guitar is special for me. Now let's get to the point. What are these things? Are they worth having around? Do they add any value to your child's playtime?

Electric guitars for children come in various shapes and sizes, and they perform different functions. For example, there are the ones that are realistic, with chords, tone knobs, pickups, tuning pegs and the whole "shebang". The only thing is that they are child size, so a kid can easily wield them and carry them around. These are perfect for kids who are serious about learning to play the guitar.

Then, there are the guitars that are designed for younger kids. Those are plain old electronic toys. They look like real guitars, except they are really small, have no chords, and they play music on speakers. To a guitar enthusiast, they might look like they are worthless, but wait a minute. Actually, they are perfect to introduce the concept of guitar playing to very young kids, and so they can ultimately be the trigger that a child needs to fall in love with playing and with music in general. Playing with this kind of guitars is loads of fun even for adults, and the cool thing is that they teach you the basics. For instance, when you play a song in "learning" mode, the frets where you need to put your finger actually light up to have you learn play the song by yourself.

Electric guitars are definitely things your kid should have. Who knows? Your kid may be the next Yingwie Malmsteen and you don't even know it.

Tea Sets For Kids - Great Toys For Boys and Girls

With so many fancy high-tech toys on the market today, finding the right toy sure to bring a smile to your kid's face is hard. As so often proves true, however, there's a reason some toys are considered classics. Take the tea set, for instance. This simple concept in itself has the capacity for endless variations, from your little girl's first full set of fine china (or plastic), to a modest cup and saucer for the toughest two-year-old boy.

The possibilities today are endless! Fisher Price Toys is one well known kid-tested, mother-approved company with a tradition of producing beautiful toys for kids that are sure to last.

Their sturdy, hard plastic construction gives them the durability to endure even the mad hatter's terrible two's. Plastic tea sets, picnic baskets, and groceries are easy to find in almost any store that sells toys.

But be warned: not all companies use as strong a plastic as Fisher Price. Accelerated rates of production with emphasis on quantity over quality leaves parents buying their children the same pretend toy sets year after year, just to maintain what they already have!

With the new emphasis on going green and reducing our carbon footprints, it's no wonder that many parents are starting to favor wooden toys and tea sets instead.

And as your grandparents will attest, wooden toys make an excellent choice. Wooden toys are built sturdier than even the strongest plastic alternatives, and are hand-carved and sure to last. So go ahead: pound those plates off the table, throw them against the wall, fill them with mud pies. A wooden set will bounce back from all these abuses -though the same can't be said for your walls or furniture!

These tea party toys and other toy food items are a great gift for young children still at home or just starting school, and are often found in waiting rooms or even Children's museums. They're a great way to spark your child's imagination in a way that allows them to mimic the grown-up world around them.

Just type in "tea set" on any online search engine, and the results will overwhelm you! With so many possibilities, you're sure to find that perfect set for any child!

Want a plastic tea set for the kids? Have a look at these recommendations at the author's Toy Tea Set web site.

Amazing Flying Toys for Kids

Kids love to have fun but it is a reality that the definition of kid's fun has changed a lot in the past couple of years. The children of today are exposed very early to the adult world, with the result that they miss out on the innocent joys and become more and more engaged in the adult world where everything is fast and furious and what's more, they try to imitate them to the fullest. So little girl's, though they play with their dolls, try giving them a manicure and pedicure and the boys love anything that is violent, like racing cars. Video games are loved by all, but if there is anything that really excites the kids and keeps them on their feet are flying toys. The makers of these toys know very well that the children of today are inspired a lot by super hero, sc-fi movies and they dream of living a similar life. These flying toys take them closest to their dreams and hence they are the most exciting to the kids.

The most popular kinds of flying gifts are of course the planes and helicopters. They are remote controlled and the bigger and faster they are, the more appealing they are to the kids. The best of the flying toys can cover an amazing range and can fly up to a hundred meters. Of course they are not to be meant for younger kids and the adults should be very discreet while letting the child handle such toys. Just because they are pining for it and the price is not an issue, does not mean that the children can have them. If out of control then they can cause serious injury to the child or to the other people near that place. They should never be allowed to play indoors with such flying gifts.

A common tendency among children is to compete with one another regarding whose plane is the fastest or flies the highest. While this can be fun to watch, adult discretion is required. The remote controlled planes and helicopters require some amount of expertise before they can be properly controlled and parents should instruct the children properly. This is because most of such toys are modeled and designed from the sci-fi moves which are very violent in nature, and the children, oblivious to the reality, try to perform similar feats. So keeping the age group of the child in mind is very important. Usually the toy pack itself carries all the details. Also, try to avoid flying toys which have to be assembled in arts, as young children may not be able to do it efficiently.

For more information on flying toys, check out the info available online; these will help you learn to find the indoor helicopter!

Ride On Toys - A Kid For Every Toy

I have loved ride on cars since my father brought one home in the 1950s. It was a rusty old red metal one that you walked with your feet. He sanded and painted it and it looked like new. Every kid on the block just loved that toy.

Kids today are no different. However, they do have way more choices than we did back then

Now days, there are battery operated ride on toys ranging from 6 Volts to 24 Volts. They come as ride on cars, mini quads, mini ATVs, motorcycles, and tractors. Most of the models come with the battery and battery charger so the kids won't run out of riding time. In fact, many parents buy an extra battery and charger so that their kids never run out of playing time.

There are several manufactures making ride on toys and ride on cars like Fisher Price's Power Wheels,Peg Perego Polaris models, and National Products Limited.

Some of the ride on cars and have passenger room, or will carry weight up to 130 pounds. This means real power. A child can take a friend or a sibling for a ride. This can save on mom and dad's frustration as the kids learn to share and co-operate.

Many of the smaller ride on cars, made for the toddler size, have remote control options so that parents can make sure the child has a safe ride. Since the slower models go at 2.5 mph, but can go up to 5 mph parents like to have control of the child's ride. This also helps with steering and back ups for the toddlers learning to drive.

The small 6 Volt battery operated cars and ride on toys are great for indoors, sidewalks, patios, and such. They are not so good on grass or hills. But that still gives the toddlers lots or room to learn to ride, drive and operate their ride on toys.

There are ride on toys that actually go up to the 10 year age bracket, and they are the more powerful ones that have the 12 Volt to 24 Volt Batteries. These are usually the ATV models, tractors and 4x4's and Jeeps. There are even trailers made to fit some models, like the Peg Perego POLARIS SPORTSMAN 700 / X2 TRAILER that is made for the Polaris 700 and Polaris X2 / 2X.

Yes, there is a kid for every ride on toy, and a ride on toy for every kid.

If you are thinking of ride on toys for gifts or to buy one for a child, be sure to look for just the rightone for your selected age group. Whether the ride on is for a toddler or a ten year old, there is a choice for you. Ride on cars, jeeps, motorcycles come in many styles, colors, and price ranges. Electronic Devices Make Cool Kid's Toys

Toy manufacturers spend a great deal of time and money in an attempt to create the "cool" kid's toys each year. These companies spend millions of dollars trying to create a buzz about their newest offerings in the hopes that they will become the next big thing and generate significant profits. And while many of these toys are simple novelties that never catch on, there are others that are consistently listed as top sellers.

In today's high-tech world, electronic toys are by far the most popular type of toy currently on the market. Advanced electronics that ten years ago would've been considered the stuff of science fiction are now so common that they are actually considered "toys". They include a wide range of different products, from video games to remote control vehicles and can cost anywhere from a few to several hundreds of dollars.

Video games have been at the top of the "cool kid's toys" list for at least the last two to three decades. Ever since the first computerized video games were available in a console for use at home, these toys have only increased in popularity with each passing year. Today's video games are vastly superior to those of just ten years ago, often including life-like graphics and highly interactive game-play.

Music players have also become so common that they are often given as children's toys. These items have quite literally revolutionized the way we listen to music, and their popularity has helped to drive the costs down. It is not uncommon to see children as young as seven or eight years old walking to school with one of these devices in their hand. Many of the newer versions of these devices can also be used to surf the Internet, make phone calls, and of course, play video games.

There are also a host of other electronic devices that can make for cool kid's toys. For younger children that are learning to read, eReaders can be found in models specifically designed for kids. Digital cameras can also be a great toy idea for children, with many companies that sell kid-friendly versions. Even laptop computers are available in designs that are made just for kids.

Jennifer R. Scott has been writing for over ten years on a broad range of topics. She has a background that includes such diverse areas as environmentalism, cooking, animal care, and technology.
